Brandi and new Equipment

These were taken August 2010 from the first time I met Brandi. I was in Cincinnati for the week visiting my family and asked one of my brothers if he knew anyone that would want to shoot. Brandi was a friend of and jumped on board. She was into photography, as you can see by all the cameras, but this was the first time she had really modeled before. I always appreciate when someone is willing to throw themselves into this experience with me. I've never taken it for granted and am still thankful for the opportunity and others like these.

This was the first time I had used my Fujifilm GA645i as I had just bought it. It was also the first time I had shot with a rangefinder style camera. Because I wasn't used to viewing the image from the side of the lens, I shot an entire roll of 120 film with the lens cap on. I did this one other shoot, but haven't done it again since. The other difficulty I ran into was not being used to how the camera focused. I definitely missed a number of frames because of it and had some other technical mistakes due to my unfamiliarity. When I look back on these photos I can appreciate them for what they are though. I'm sure now I could have due Brandi a little more justice though.

All photos are low res scans of 120 film.
