Support the Work

I keep a blog called Content + Context. The content is the pictures, photographs and paintings, along with the sketches and in-progress shots that usually never leave the studio. The context is the writing, where I work out the ideas about art and philosophy the pictures come from. When you support the work, you get all of it, the full archive included. The blog goes back to 2016, and the pictures in it reach to the late 1990s. I'm usually posting here several times a week.

What you'll find is a mix of images and writing, much of it unfinished on purpose. A lot of it is the problem posted before I've solved it, and sometimes I never do. A painting that failed teaches me as much as one that worked, because it rules something out. This is the part most people never see, the failures and dead ends that usually get thrown out.

I'd rather make the work I want than the work that sells. Your support buys the time and independence to follow these problems where they lead, without trimming them into something easier to hang on a wall. That's the trade. You get everything I make, as I make it, and I get to keep trying to make something worth the attention.

It's $10 a month, or $90 for the year. Sign up below, and I'm glad to have you along.
